Support & Remote Control
Pre-Requisites
- Participant must join meeting with PC or Mac.
- Participant that is sharing screen must be on a PC or Mac.
Zoom Support
Zoom Support allows the meeting host to request control of another particpant's screen before initiating a Screen Share.
Request Desktop Control
As a host, you can request control of a participant's entire desktop.
- Click Support and select Request Desktop Control.
- The participant will be prompted to grant control of their desktop. The host will then have full control of the participant's computer.
Request Application Control
As a host, you can request control of a specific application on a participant's computer.
- Click Support and select Request Application Control.
- The participant will be prompted to grant control of a specific application on their computer. They must first give permission, then they must select the application. The host will then have control of only that application on the participant's computer.
Request Computer Restart
As a host, you can request a restart of a participant's computer.
- Click Support and select Request Computer Restart.
- The participant will be prompted to grant a restart of thier computer. After the computer restarts, the participant will automatically be rejoined to the Zoom meeting.
Regain Control
The participant can temporarily regain control over their mouse and keyboard by simply clicking anywhere on their screen. As long as the Control session stays active, desktop/application control of the participant's computer is shared with the host.
End Control
The participant can end the Control session when they want to permanently take back control of their computer.
- To end the control session, the participant should click Remote Control.
- Click Stop Remote Control to end the Control session.
Zoom Remote Control
Zoom Remote Control allows a meeting host or guest to request control of another participant's screen after Screen Sharing has begun.
Request Remote Control
You can Request Remote Control from the host or the participant that is screen sharing.
- Once the user has started sharing, click View Options at the top of your meeting window.
- Select Request Remote Control. The screen sharer will be prompted to allow control of their screen.
Give Mouse/Keyboard Control
While Screen Sharing in a Zoom meeting, you can Give Mouse/Keyboard control to another participant.
- Click Share Screen and select the window or application that you want to share.
- Click Remote Control and select the participant that you would like to give control. The participant can click anywhere on the screen to start control.
