• Region 15 Head Start values the involvement of Parents and Community members in our decision making process.  We have a  Policy Committee group made up of parent representatives from each Head Start and Early Head Start locations, whose children are currently enrolled. The Committee will elect a Community Representative who has knowledge of the program and community resources that would benefit Head Start Families.

Community Representatives will be drawn from :

    • Local Business Community
    • Community, Civic, or professional organizations
    • Parents of Formerly enrolled children

The Policy Committee Members come together at Region 15 Education Service Center in San Angelo, once a month, to engage in the decision making and planning process for our program.  Transportation and lunch is provided for those attending the meetings.

Each member is required to be elected from the local Head Start Parent group at each campus.  A member must be elected from the Parent Group annually but can serve up to 5 years on the Policy Committee.

Please contact your Family Service Worker if you are interested in serving on the Policy Committee.

Annual elections will be conducted at the First Campus Parent meeting, generally in Late August/early September.
